About EPIC TRANSFORMATION

I’m on a quest… and that quest will change my life forever…
…And I’m inviting you along.

The Quest ... Begins Here!

The Quest ... Begins Here!

You see, I’m one of those people who got that good education, and then went out and got that job. Now, I’ve been blessed by God that I’ve never been without a job and my success has been steady. I haven’t risen mercurially and I’ve never really sought to ‘climb the ladder of success’ through management. I’ve been in management, but because of the corporate culture I was surrounded by, it really wasn’t what it was cracked up to be and I felt more like I was babysitting than leading.

I got my bachelors degree (business) and then later my masters degree (software engineering). My career has taken me from hotels to aerospace to banking and mortgage. In the course of my career I’ve performed customer relations, been an industrial buyer, subcontract administrator, software developer, project manager, and currently a security specialist in IT.

I’ve been at this career thing for well over 30 years. I’ve developed a good reputation as someone who can get the job done, and I take pride in my ability to solve problems and deliver what I produce.

I’ve stayed dedicated to my career out of duty to my family. In my early career my daughter was everything to me (the best daughter a dad could ask for!) and I would do nothing to jeopardize my income for the family, which was really all we’ve ever really had. My wife has been able to contribute here and there, but really, we’ve been a one-income family all this time, and frankly that’s not all that fun and rewarding in Los Angeles with a mediocre income. It’s been hard watching families with two incomes get their houses and nice cars, take their vacations… you know the drill.

So, if most of my career until now has been all about my family, something changed awhile ago that has put me on a new path. I realized that I have not been all I could be and have been holding myself back for the sake of ‘safety’.  Gee, where did I learn that from? My dad.

Now, I love my dad and all, but in his career he worked for one place for over 30 years and then retired with his pension – that’s all he knew. I learned a new viewpoint a few years ago from my sister about my generation –If we want to know what our retirement will look like, look to our grandparents, not to our parents. That’s because our parents lived in a cultural bubble through the 50’ to the 80’s that is very unique in history where jobs were very steady for the most part and your company would actually take care of you with a pension. That’s all gone now, and that’s the same way it was for our grandparents – they didn’t have those guarantees, and neither do we.

So what changed is that realization that I have to alter my life’s direction – an Epic Transformation if you will, away from the employee mindset that I was taught, to an entrepreneurial mindset. That’s the quest I’m on, and I’ll keep you updated on a regular basis so you can follow me, and for those friends of mine who are deep in that corporate employee world, hopefully follow me out.

There are some wonderful opportunities I’m involved with and I’ll be telling you about those, but a lot I’ll talk about is the change inside my mind my heart that is driving this transformation. That internal change is really the secret behind any kind of transformation like I’m in the middle of. You can have the best business opportunity in the world, but if YOU are not in the right place to receive it, it will slip right through your fingers. I’m determined to make good on these opportunities and follow through to the success I’ve never had in my life before and leave a lasting legacy to that beautiful, bright daughter of mine.

I’m glad you’re along for the trip. It’s always good to travel with friends.
